Junior High Christian Service Program
Purpose
- To increase student awareness of community life
- Develop the student's individual, family, and community responsibilities
- Prepare the student for the sacrament of Confirmation
To ready oneself for Confirmation, one should strive to waken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community.

Guidelines
- All 7th grade students, non-Catholic included, are expected to complete 30 hours of service during the 7th grade
- All 8th grade students, non-Catholic included, are expected to complete 30 hours of service during the 8th grade; ONE HOUR of which MUST be served in a community such as:
- Nursing home
- Gleaners Food Bank
- With the Handicapped
- Assisted Living Center
- Soup Kitchen
- K of C functions
- Christian service hours can be obtained when a student provides a service they would not normally do. For example:
- Market Day
- DCHS Auction
- Sunday Preschool Helper
- DCES Boutique
- Christmas gifts for the poor
- Christian service hours worked are written on the sheet provided and are submitted to the Religious Education office twice a year:
- 15 hours due the Monday after Thanksgiving
- 15 hours due in April
